Happy 9th Birthday Ike!!

My little guy is not so little anymore!  I'm not sure how that happened, but I am so thankful for him!  He has an amazing "eyes disappear when he smiles" smile and is one helpful son!  We love you Ike!

The birthday boy looking cool in his new aviator sunglasses.
He was one happy boy because he got LOTS of Legos from family back home (his FAVORITE toy)!

Because the boy's birthdays are only a week apart they always have "joint" birthday parties.  This year they decided on an Angry Bird cake and a Ninja Turtle cake (just to make sure they challenged their mom, I'm sure).

We let them decide who they wanted to invite to their party.  Only boys made the cut (unless they happened to be their sister or their friend's little sister).

Goofin' Around

Last weekend we went in search of a good spot to take a family picture.  After attempting many shots, Andy went back to the car for something and I told the kids that I wanted to take some goofy pictures.  This is what they gave me.....

Yep, they're a bunch of goofballs!

Beach Fun

After way too many weeks of rain the skies finally cleared, the beautiful sun came out, and we headed to the beach to enjoy the nice weather!
Joey was obviously happy about this!
We found this little critter on the beach (I think it's a puffer fish).
Happy family!

Brick Art

We headed south for the day to visit friends and go to this Lego Exhibit.  Ike and Joe just LOVE Legos, so this was the perfect place to take them!

Mother's Day Program

Every year the school where Ike and Elle attend has a Mother's Day program fun day.  They have a little program, serve tea to the moms, and then have some traditional Chinese activities that the kids can participate in.

Ike participated in his first ukelele performance

Ellie learning how to pull apart her favorite Hakka treat...glutinous rice with peanut powder
Ike learning how to shape this traditional snake (which he really doesn't like)
