An all night sleeper???

Joey is just over 8 weeks. Last night he went 8 hours between feedings. Was it a fluke, or is this wonderful gift here to stay??? We'll keep you posted.

Return to the Bouncy II

Ike likes to use the bouncy chair to watch movies and eat his cereal.

Elle has decided that the bouncy chair is great for calling Grandpa and Grandma on her Cookie Monster phone.

(Can you believe how strong these chairs are...this one is holding a 30+ lb kid!!)

Brothers

Joey is only 8 weeks old and he and Isaak are already wrestling!

Check out this smile!

Elle's Hair

Noelle's hair has gotten so long, but because it is so curly, I don't want to cut it. I'm afraid her curls will disappear. This is a "problem" because she sweats so much in this heat, and her hair is so fine that it doesn't stay in a ponytail. We finally found a style that works. The hard part is getting her to sit still long enough to fix it.

Surviving the heat

Today the high was close to 100F. The sun is so hot during the day that you really don't want to be out, not even in a swimming pool! We decided to stay inside and hang out in Ike and Joey's room where there is a/c (we don't have a/c in the living room or kitchen) and drink blended lattes and milkshakes. Elle thought that was a great idea!

Ike is feeling a bit under the weather and didn't want his picture taken. He also decided he didn't want his milkshake, so he gave it to Dad.

Somehow Joey managed to sleep through all the fun!

He's getting so big!

It's hard to believe, but Joey is 7 weeks old today! Time has flown by (probably because we are busy chasing a toddler and preschooler around as well).

Here's another shot of his smile, though this one is probably from gas!

Per Grandpa's request

Grandpa K gave Isaak this light for his birthday. Here's the picture you requested, Grandpa. It took me awhile to get, but better late than never!

A Reminder!!

Uncle T sent us a reminder of an added bonus to having children. Thanks Uncle T and Aunt K!
(We saw this same onesie on another blog, but didn't expect it to show up on our's)

Smiling

Joey has started to smile for reasons other than gas. I tried to get a couple shots. These were the best I could get.

Brotherly/Sisterly Love...or is it???

Thanks Aunt M!

Here's a picture of Ike helping to show off Joey's truck quilt from Aunt M! Ike likes to play on the quilt as much as Joey does. Okay, so Joey just lays on it, but Ike drives his cars all over it while talking to Joey about what he's doing. Thanks Aunt M!

5 weeks and still growing!

Joey is just over 5 weeks now. Last week he was at the Dr. for his 1 month check-up. Here are his new stats.....8.5 lbs and 21.5 in.
(Thanks Grandma B, Kota, and Tana for making him the GREAT fleece blanket, and Grandma K for the crocheted blanket)

Thanks Aunt K!

Elle got this new outfit from Aunt K yesterday. It's a little big, but I didn't care. I thought it was so cute on her! Thanks Aunt K for all the fun stuff you give the kids!

Boys love their cars!

Once Joey starts to sleep through the night, he and Ike will share a bedroom. So, Grandma K made the boys matching quilts. The theme, of course, was "Cars". Ike loves his quilt and pillow cases. If Joey could talk, I'm sure he would tell Grandma he loves his quilt and bumper pads. Thanks Grandma!

TMF

This week we ventured south of the Tropic of Cancer to attend the Taiwan Missionary Fellowship Conference. For the adults it was a time to look into the Word, meet new friends, and for those who have been on the island longer, a time to catch up with old friends. We were blessed to use the house of our friend Annalise for the week. Thanks "Lisa" (this is what Ike calls her)!
Noelle spent the week playing with new friends in the nursery. The nursery helpers were great! She had a lot of fun! They spent a lot of time outside, so Elle came home with a great tan!! By the time lunch was over each day, all the kids were tuckered out, so it was easy to get them to nap. We rarely get to see Elle sleep because she is such a light sleeper we would wake her up by opening the door. So, here is a rare shot of her napping.

Ike spent his week with other preschoolers "Splashing into God's Kingdom". He had lots of fun getting wet each day and playing with his new friends. He was also very tuckered out after his morning classes, so he took his nap so he could go swimming in the afternoon.

We can't forget Joey. He spent most of his time sleeping...surprise, surprise. He had to tag along with Mom and Dad to their sessions, but it didn't matter because he finds the stroller quite nice for sleeping in.

We also found out that Joey speaks Gecko. One night he was squawking a bit (probably because he was hungry) and a gecko in the house chirped back. It was very funny!

Swimming

A highlight each day was, of course, swimming. Ike went everyday! He even got his dad to go with him (Andy HATES to swim). That's probably because he needed to cool off after playing tennis in 95F weather.

Elle went swimming with her Great Aunt D and her daddy. Her Dad even got her to go underwater a bunch of times (thanks Andrea for the tips on how). She loved it!!!

Joey enjoyed a view of the pool from his stroller. He almost got a taste of ice cream from his great uncle M. Of course his mom put a stop to that...what a party pooper!

Elle enjoyed some ice cream after her swim.

Ike's first "VBS" program.

Ike was part of his first VBS type program. He got up with all the other kids to sing, dance, and jump around. Great job Ike!!!

Joseph's Baptism

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Yesterday we brought Joey to the Lord in baptism. What a precious gift!

Joey was baptized by his Great Uncle Mike, who is also the pastor of the Hakka congregation that we attend.

We managed to get a couple of family shots....AMAZING because it happened BEFORE we went to church. What a change from last week!
